Making a Difference
Throughout the school year, faculty and staff appeal to the PTO to help fund various projects. In other instances, the PTO proactively volunteers resources to support initiatives that enhance the school environment. Below are a sampling of the most recent projects where the PTO has made a difference.
Upgrading the World Language Classroom
In September, Ada Elementary's Spanish teacher submitted a formal request to the PTO for funds to purchase more comfortable and accommodating seating for her students. The PTO formally approved the request in October, providing her with $200 to purchase more than two-dozen carpet squares and seat supplements, enhancements that will be enjoyed by more than 300 students.

In November, the PTO provided funding for Principal Jo Anderson to attend the MEMSPA (Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association) annual conference in Traverse City,
STARS Books
In November, the PTO granted a $250 funding request by STARS teachers for new books. The resources will help enhance reading skills for first graders.
Counseling Resources
In November, the PTO approved a $150 funding request by school counselor Jennifer Fischer, providing her with the necessary resources to purchase books, games and crafts for use in group activities and one-on-one interactions.
Speech-Language Materials
In November, the PTO granted a $250 funding request by speech therapist Jackie LaFontaine and speech pathologist Laura Ringel to purchase materials to support Ada students.
