WHO WE ARE
The Ada Elementary PTO, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is dedicated to enriching all children's learning experience at Ada Elementary. Unlike some other Parent Teacher Organizations, we do not have membership dues or volunteer hour requirements, and we welcome all parents and guardians of Ada Elementary students as automatic members of our PTO.
As detailed in our by-laws, our objectives are two-fold:
HOW WE DO IT
The board plays a crucial role in finalizing the calendar of various fundraisers and events each year, ensuring a well-planned and effective strategy. This process involves careful consideration of various factors, including community preferences, event success from previous years, and alignment with Ada Elementary's needs and goals for the upcoming school year.
Once the calendar is in place, the board collaborates closely with the fundraising and program committee chairs to execute the planned events and initiatives. It becomes a truly collaborative effort, with everyone on the team contributing their unique skills and expertise. This "all hands on deck" approach ensures that each fundraiser and event receives the attention it deserves.
Through effective teamwork and coordination, the board, along with the committee chairs, strives to make each year's calendar of events a resounding success for all of the families, teachers and staff we serve. Learn more about the types of Fundraisers and Programming we typically put on each year and the various Committees and Current Chairs. We couldn't do it without our amazing volunteers!

Vice President I am a loan officer at Treadstone Funding- which means I get to help people finance new home purchases and refinance existing home loans! In my free time, I like to work out, play pickleball, My daughter Maylee is a second grader at Ada and my son Kasen is in Kindergarten. I found out very quickly after my daughter started Kindergarten here that Ada was such a special place. The teachers, staff, and parents are all wonderful and inviting people. I joined the PTO as an opportunity to give back to the school, meet more parents, and help make Ada an even better place for our students, teachers, and staff. I grew up as a teacher’s daughter and my husband, Jake, is the Assistant Principal at Lowell High School. Education and teachers have a very special place in our hearts. My goal for our PTO is that we can make it inclusive, informative, and help both our students, faculty, and staff thrive this year and in the years to come. |
Katie Prince
Secretary I am a teacher by training, just getting back into substitute teaching after being home with my kids for several years. You might see me in the building helping out in preschool or ECSE, and volunteering in my kids’ classrooms when I can, during this part-time work season of my life! Outside of school, I enjoy reading, baking, hiking, yoga, gardening, spending time with my family, and going to the beach as much as possible in the summer! I have a second grader, Cameron, and a preschooler, Aiden who attend Ada and have loved their experience here thus far! I joined PTO in October of 2022, to fill the role of Secretary. I love organizing and communicating but most of all helping where I can! I am a do-er and got involved in Ada PTO because I want to be a part of fun happenings in this great school community while supporting kids and teachers in a positive way. |
Jamie Montague
Communications Coordinator I am a CPA currently working as the Director of Finance for a local general contractor, Carbon Six Construction. My hobbies include cheering for the Michigan State Spartans, golfing, skiing and spending time at our family cottage. After our first daughter, Cameron, finished Kindergarten at Ada Elementary last year, I joined the PTO for a chance to meet more parents, school staff and just get more involved. Taking on the relaunch of our website and Facebook page and publishing a monthly newsletter has been a fun challenge for someone who deals with numbers and compliance all day. My goal with this role is to help parents feel well informed and a part of an inclusive, supportive school community – where they know when the next event is and how to sign up and be a part of it if they want! |
